Kristin Benokraitis
Director of Quality/Programs

Kristin BenokraitisKristin’s engineering background features a strong, technical foundation for her role at Gilero. Her previous roles in manufacturing facilities across several industries have given her hands-on experience in high-volume manufacturing environments. Prior to working at Gilero, Kristin began her professional career at Allied Signal (now Honeywell) working as a process engineer at a manufacturing plant making polymer resin used in the automotive industry for applications, such as tire cord, seatbelts and airbags. At Allied Signal, she was certified as a Six Sigma Greenbelt, and underwent Six Sigma Blackbelt and Design for Six Sigma training, which focused on design for manufacturing. Following her work at Allied Signal, Kristin transitioned to the medical device industry and held various roles in quality engineering and new product development at Boston Scientific’s North America R&D headquarters. While at Boston Scientific, she gained extensive experience with cardiovascular balloon catheters and drug eluting stents, by supporting manufacturing commercialized product, as well as developing next-generation products. Kristin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Andrew Corson
Director of Engineering

Andrew CorsonAndrew has a technical leadership role at Gilero with a proven track record of commercializing new medical devices. After developing manufacturing processes for a wide variety of emerging technology medical devices for several years, his career path was deliberately steered towards device design while playing a pivotal role in a successful product startup. This provided him a broad and practical view of the product life cycle since design and manufacturing for success should never be separate functions. Andrew began his career as a Project and Validation Engineer with Mallinckrodt, focused on both biological and Biopharma manufacturing. He later moved into medical devices with Angiosonics where he was the Manufacturing Manager responsible for multiple design iterations of a novel ultrasonic device used to break up blood clots. Andrew combined his pharmaceutical and medical device experiences as a Project Engineer working for Bespak where he led the manufacturing development efforts in the commercialization of new respiratory products. Prior to joining Gilero, Andrew directed barbed suture manufacturing development for Quill Medical for which he is a named inventor on a related patent. Andrew graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
