Principal Design Engineer

A skilled and goal-oriented mechanical engineer, Steve joined the Gilero team in 2015. He has extensive experience designing from concept-to-production within the space, oil & gas, alternative energy, electromechanical, microelectronic, and medical device industries. In his current role as Principal Design Engineer, Steve is responsible for the design and development of innovative new products, primarily Class I and Class II single-use medical devices. Steve is involved in most stages of product design and routinely helps take devices from concept to commercialization here at Gilero. He is especially skilled in prototyping, often designing, fabricating, and testing early-stage prototypes. Steve’s work has heavily focused on designing Class 3 long term implantable targeted therapy delivery devices, drug delivery devices for eye related therapy, at home viral testing kits, prepless colonoscopy medical devices, precise IV drug delivery devices and six sigma continuous improvement programs. Steve also has a strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and materials, including Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Notably, Steve has been listed as an inventor on 25 issued patents. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
