Gilero Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Tijuana, Mexico

MORRISVILLE, N.C., June 1, 2022 — Gilero, a contract design, development and manufacturing firm specializing in medical and drug delivery devices, has announced the opening of a new medical device manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

“Adding a manufacturing facility in Mexico means that we can now offer a low-cost manufacturing option for high-volume products that require it,” says Clayton Roberts, VP of Business Development for Gilero. “This facility will operate under the same robust Quality Management System as Gilero’s domestic manufacturing facility in Pittsboro, North Carolina, ensuring regulatory and product quality consistency across all of our sites.”

The new location was selected in part because of its close proximity to Gilero’s Design Center in Carlsbad, California, which opened in 2019.

“Gilero’s Tijuana manufacturing facility is just over the US-Mexico border, about a 45-minute drive from our Design Center in Carlsbad,” shares Ted Mosler, CEO and Founder of Gilero. “This positioning allows our engineering teams to remain involved in the manufacturing transfer process as needed, ensuring product designs are correctly and efficiently transferred from design into manufacturing.”

This location will provide the same high level of manufacturing expertise that Gilero is known for, with a strong focus on medical device assembly and packaging.

“We are excited about the opening of the Tijuana plant,” says Mosler.  “This expansion of Gilero’s global footprint allows us to better meet the manufacturing needs of our clients in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.”
